Description: This is a painting of a Paper Birch that grows right along the sidewalk leading from the Gooseberry Falls S.P. interpretive center to the lower falls along the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. I was really enthralled with the beauty of this tree, including its grandeur and the play of light as it shone across the textured surface. I resonated with the spiritual essence and wisdom of this tree, and I tried to capture that connection in this piece.
