Description: One day while I was enjoying a hike with my family through a restored prairie, we happened upon this beautiful Purple Cone Flower (Echinacea purpurea). As we were admiring its beauty, a friendly little butterfly stopped by for a visit. Deeply rooted in this piece is my fascination with this essential but fleeting relationship shared by plants and animals. I suppose in many ways it reminds me of the fact that all sorts of people come into our lives, some for only brief moments, but all of those relationships are essential for our vitality.
