Description: I am always amazed at the beauty one can find in things often overlooked. I pass countless cornfields daily in my commute to and from work, and I am typically too preoccupied with my thoughts to even acknowledge their existence. Recently, something about the rows of corn struck me and I pulled over to the side of the road for a better look. The stalks were beginning to transition from green to gold in conjunction with the arrival of fall and harvest time. I was struck by the complexity of colors, textures, and forms and was reminded in that moment to simply pause and observe. I painted this piece to commemorate that moment and to remind myself to regularly embrace the beauty in all things.
